How We do Our Bit For the Planet

At KCS, we are passionate about making sure the world is a better place for our children. We know how important it is to look after our environment and to ensure that we are not having a negative impact on the world around us. During the pandemic, many of our staff have been working from home which has reduced carbon emissions significantly because we're no longer commuting. There are plans for this to stay in place even once the pandemic restrictions are over.

Have a look below of other initiatives;

Go Green. Go Digital.

As standard we have a ‘Go Green, Go Digital’ initiative. We have reduced our paper usage in the office and at home and are encouraging customers to access our materials online.

Eco-friendly Products

We work with suppliers who are finding alternative manufacturing methods. We have products made from recycled milk bottles and have recently introduced a sugar cane toy range – keep a lookout for what comes next!

Recycling

There are a number of steps that we have taken to help lessen our environmental impact, from using recycled paper in our catalogues and recycling all our cardboard and polythene, to harvesting rainwater to flush our toilets and using motion sensor LED lighting to save energy. We are proud to take steps around the office to help the cause.

TerraCycle

We have teamed up with TerraCycle to put an end to this enormous loss of resources. The Crisp Packet Recycling Scheme allows us to recycle our crisp packets and prevent them from ending up in a landfill. Not only are we helping the environment, but the waste we recycle also helps TerraCycle to fund schools.

Carbon Emissions

With the UK government pledging to cut carbon emissions by 80% by 2050 we will see the rise of electric vehicles. At KCS we have our own electric vehicle charging point for our staff to make use of, and are also consulting with many of our customers to see how we can help them do the same.
