I'm Vanessa, a year one teacher in the heart of Essex with eight years of creative nurturing under my belt. Teaching in year one is my passion, and I absolutely love it! We believe in promoting self-selection where students choose how to express their ideas. This philosophy is truly alive in art lessons, allowing their unbridled creativity and imagination to flourish.
The festive season is upon us, and what better way to usher in Christmas than with enchanting decorations? Thanks to KCS's invaluable resources, our School Hall has been transformed into a Christmas Wonderland.
Transforming the Ordinary into the Magical
Imagine a forest of Christmas trees, each uniquely adorned by young creative minds. KCS provided us with the necessary materials, and every child had the joy of choosing and decorating their Christmas tree. These trees were then placed on our very own School Forest display board, becoming the stars of our nativity plays. Year 1 students embraced collages, an unpredictable yet delightful method that sparked waves of creativity.
Festive Doors & Smiles Galore
Decorating classroom doors is a beloved tradition across various year groups. Thanks to KCS' wonderful supplies, every classroom turned into a haven of holiday cheer. The colourful decor inspired not just smiles but joyous laughter, creating a sense of warmth that only Christmas can bring.
A Kaleidoscope of Christmas in the Hall
Each December, our school hall undergoes a magnificent transformation. Two hoops hang from the ceiling in each class, ready to be decorated. KCS's wide array of materials brings a kaleidoscope of colour to life, offering a visual feast that the children enjoy daily during meals, P.E. lessons, shows, concerts, and assemblies. Every age group contributes unique decorations, resulting in a stunning display that becomes the pride and joy of the school. It's more than a decoration; it's an enchanting world made real by children's hands, all thanks to KCS.
Unpredictable Fun in Year 1
In year 1, the children's creativity took a quirky turn. With a large variety of supplies from KCS, they crafted their own mittens. The outcome was both diverse and unpredictable yet filled with pure enjoyment. Each mitten became a symbol of individuality and fun, a memorable experience all made possible by KCS.
