Demonstration the principles of magnetism and the Earth's magnetic field with this magnetic globe. Showing the continents and their positions, children can find where North is with a compass, where the poles are, the equator and what happens to the magnetic field in-between. Simply place staples or magnetic chips at different points on the globe to find the magnetic equator and poles. On the poles they will stand up straight. On the magnetic equator they will lay down flat. Between the poles and the equator, the staples or chips will stand at different angles. Using a gimbal-mounted magnet, you can also demonstrate how the magnetic field extends beyond the surface of the globe.
